Wow my new SLR Canon 400D Camera.My Grandfather loved taking photos and if he was alive today he would be in his glory, unfortunately he past away before digital came out. So now with my new camera i will take lots of photos for him.
So heres to taking lots of phots grandad..........

how are you? apart from grinning ear to ear :)
hahaha your going to have to come out photo hunting with me one weekend it's so cool what you can do with a DSLR, i've been sooooo hooked on mine in the last week or so, really getting into and learning the creative modes.
if you haven't got a tripod ( i got a Monfrotto 055XPROB tripod with a Monfrotto 804RC2 head, it's a little bulky but probably best cause i'm doing macro work)that's the first thing i suggest you get, i feel this was the best investment i made since purchasing my camera but also helping to learn about the functions properly to, cause you can set up a scene then take as many photos to practice and switch creative settings until you get the desired result!!

learn how to get your histograms up when you display a photo so can see whether it's too dark/light and make adjustments and so forth, i won't rable on anymore about it just have a read of those sites :)
Hope all's well, have lots of fun with your camera and make sure you take lots of photos cause the more you take the better you get, the more good shots you have and you will start to look at the world in another light or should i say veiwfinder just like cameras should be!! Congrats Karen! I got one recently too - but I'm yet to take it out of the box! Will try and get it out on teh weekend and have a play! Looking forward to seeing some of your fave shots in the savvy gallery!
